See you there
The importance of gathering and celebrating
Last week, we gathered together in bookstores and libraries, and we told stories. I told some from the stage, but then you got out of your seat and while waiting for me to finish signing my book, you told me yours. Things that resonated.
And it made the night richer.
Sometimes being an author can feel so isolating. You pour out words on the page that are really confessions and revelations and you trust that eventually what was solo will be joined and become communal.
When we gather together, when we commune, something magical happens.
I know its such a busy time (my kid started school TODAY! so I kissed him goodbye then ran to the airport to catch another flight). But I also know that we can't let our busyness get in the way of being seen. If it works out, I really hope you consider joining me for the last 4 stops of my book tour.
CHICAGO, you're up tonight! Nikole Hannah-Jones will be there and I have no doubt magic will be in the air.
Full of our stories,
Austin
